Hello friends!
Oh wow, I am HALFWAY through my pregnancy!!! Can you believe it because I sure can’t!
Our little bean is the size (length) of a banana this week, oddly enough.. my second favorite fruit
We FINALLY got to hear the heartbeat at our appointment yesterday. Erik couldn’t go to this one because he had a meeting at work, but I did get to record it, so he could hear it. I really can’t stop listening to it. It is quite possibly the best sound a mom can hear
that is until their baby is born and they hear him or her cry for the first time.. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.
We have been super busy this week. We started putting the nursery together, which I am pretty sure the baby loves, because every time I go into the room he/she starts kicking up a storm
I am hoping to put together the crib later on this weekend or early next week, because the chair I ordered has finally shipped and will be here next week! Also next week is our Gender Reveal party, and my friend Kelly is coming to visit!!! Exciting things are happening over here.
I also started a new workout which has been awesome. I am still working through the emotions of this pregnancy and my body changing but slowly and with the support of my wonderful hubby, I am getting better. I am trying to embrace the belly.
which is getting pretty big these days
I am so so so happy to be out of the awkward “is she getting fat” phase, people are now congratulating us.. strangers! It makes me smile, so keep it up haha.
According to Babycenter.com, “ Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby’s legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the “crown to rump” measurement. After 20 weeks, he’s measured from head to toe.) He’s swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He’s also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you’ll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).”
Tomorrow Patti and I are going to a consignment sale, I am pretty excited, but nervous that I will be overwhelmed. I am hoping I can score some baby books and other odds and ends, no big things… I will show you my loot next week
