Telling Erik

Hello friends!

Thank you all for your sweeeeet words of congratulations :) we are sooooo excited.  Now you know why I haven’t had the energy to workout, or cook!! Although I do have a new obsession :)

Oh veggie bagel sandwich you complete me!

The past couple of weeks, I have been keeping a collection of posts I knew I wanted to share with you all when it was finally time to announce. I will start by telling you guys how I told Erik and then how we told our families!

Flashback to May 23… I was on my way home debating with myself whether or not to take a test… I wasn’t technically due to take a test for a few days (3-5 days), but I had an itch.  Well that and I had a dream the previous night that I had gotten a positive result. So I got home, peed in a cup and took the test. I was not expecting anything, so after the elapsed five minutes I looked at the test…. Then did a double take! WHAAAAAAAAAAAA?

I immediately texted the picture to my twinsie Erin and told her to call me asap!  We talked as I paced my house (sweating), and I decided not to tell Erik until the next morning, if I got another positive result. Little did he know, back in March I ordered a little kid’s snowboard, which I had intended on wrapping and giving to him in order to tell him we were pregnant. I prayed and prayed that I would get the BFP (big fat positive) in May, so that I could give it to him as a birthday gift.

Well that night we watched a movie, and headed straight to bed afterwards (thank goodness, I am terrible at keeping secrets).  I did not sleep AT ALL.  I literally laid there all night checking the time every hour or so. It was horrible, but I was too excited.  When he got up to go to take a shower, I snuck into the bathroom to take a few (three) more tests. All POSTIVE!

I knew it was time. I ran and got the box with the snowboard, and set it up in the living room.

When he came downstairs I said, “I want to give you your birthday present right now. I know it’s a little early but I think you are going to love it and I cannot wait anymore.”

He opened it and looked at me like uh a little snowboard? Haha. And I said do you know why I got you a little snowboard?

because of this… and I handed him the test.

His eyes have never been bigger, and he said, “omg are you serious? Is this real?” with a huge grin on his face, we hugged, I cried, it was awesome.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
