Tackling my 101 list!

Hello friends!

Thank you all for your kind words about yesterday’s post 🙂 I love my sister very very much 🙂  Last night we went to Coastal Flatts for dinner, but I left my camera at home, so sorry no pictures from last night.  But I will tell you that I got my sister The Hunger Games series for her birthday 🙂 WooT.  She has been wanting to read them, so now she has no excuse not to.

Remember earlier this year when I wrote my 101 in 1001 list?! Well I have been thinking that I kinda need to get a jump on it, seeing as how I have only completed 17 out of 101 things and I have about 2 years left.  Well Friday night, a few of us went out to an Ethiopian restaurant for the very first time.  #45 on my list, was to eat at an unusual restaurant, and I am not saying it is usual to be rude, an Ethiopian restaurant is unusual for us to go to (does that make sense, I don’t want to offend anyone). We had gotten a Groupon for Merkamo Ethiopian Restaurant a while back, and it was due to expire so we went!  I was a bit skeptical at first, because everything on the menu and in the pictures on the website seemed as though the meat was raw, no thanks.  You can check out their website for the menu, and descriptions of what we had. We ordered the Vegetarian special as an appetizer and it was AMAZING, probably my favorite dish.

Sorry for the dark pictures, the lighting in the restaurant was not very good.  After we hoovered down our appetizer, our entrees came,

I ordered the TIBS(beef), it was YUMMY 🙂 Erik ordered Gomen Besega

Lauren got the Doro Wett (chicken)

and Lejia got the Merkamo Kitfo, which was served raw.. I tried it, but I did not like it.

All in all it was a very fun experience, and I am glad we tired it.

Have you ever eaten anywhere you don’t normally go to? Did you like it?

I’ve always wanted to make a 101 in 1001 list. I think I should start that soon! I’ve also always wanted to try ethiopian food!! Is that the cuisine where they serve the injera flat bread stuff that you eat with the food? That’s what it looks like from your pictures, and it looks delicious!

Yup exactly, I think you would like it. The meat was not the way to go with Ethiopian Food, but the veggie sampler!!! Delish!
