Chicago Day 1 & 2

Hello friends!

Sorry I was MIA all last week. We were on VACATION!!! We went to Chicago for a few days last week before heading up to Lake Geneva, WI. I will recap our trip in a few posts because I have a ton of pictures.

We arrived in Chicago on Friday and checked into our hotel.  We waited around for a couple of hours until Warren and ALLIE got off work.  Allie and I met through our blogs and we started planning our meet up as soon as I found out I was going to be in Chicago. I had suggested we meet up for pizza since we both loooooove the stuff, so Allie suggested we go to Lou Malnati’s.  O.M.G this place was amazing! I am so happy she took me here.  We had to wait around for a while before our pizza arrived at our table, but I swear we chatted like two people who have known eat other their whole lives.  🙂 It was so easy to talk to her and I am so very happy to have made such an amazing a new friend 🙂

I am sad we only took one picture, but at least it was a good one 🙂 Maybe I can convince her to come visit us in DC sometime soon!?

After dinner, Allie dropped me off at Warren’s apartment and we got to sit out on his sweet balcony and have a few drinks.  Afterwards he took us over to an awesome beer garden were him and Erik took shots.. I am not a fan of shots AT ALL, no thanks I will just take the pictures 🙂

After promising Warren for what 4-5 years that we were going to come and visit him we actually did 🙂 Another thing knocked off of my 101 list!

The next morning Erik and I went to The Grand Lux Cafe for brunch before we started getting ready for Philippe and Oriana’s wedding!!!

There was quite a show outside of the restaurant,

Erik got the French Toast, how good does that look?

and I had scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon, duhhhh so good!

it was so delish 🙂 After brunch Erik and I walked around downtown Chicago

That night we geared up for Philippe and Oriana’s wedding.. more on that tomorrow 🙂

Have a great day!

Cheers!

I’ve never been to chicago but I’m obsessed with seeing that bean and trying the deep dish pizza there. It sounds like you had a great time!
