Lake Fun

Hello friends!

Happy belated 4th of July! We had a nice and relaxing day yesterday, so I wanted to stay away from the computer :).  We slept in (duh), then headed to the gym for the first time in what seems like a month and had an awesome work out.  Then we headed over to my momma’s house for some lunch

a quick nap

and a little swim 🙂

It was awesome.  Earlier in the week, we made plans to go see the fireworks with Lauren and David, but it was so unbearably hot yesterday that we decided to skip out on the fireworks.  Instead my mom, sister, Kody, Erik and I went to the movies and saw the new Spiderman movie.  It was actually really good. Andrew Garfield is a FAR better Peter Parker than Tobey Maguire.

Annnnyyyway, here are some more pictures from our vacation 🙂 The day after the wedding we went to brunch with some friends from the wedding

most delish mushroom, egg omelet 🙂

Then we headed to the airport to pick up Erik’s parents so we could head to Elmhurst to see the rest of Erik’s family.  All the cousins came over to Aunt Sue’s house (we didn’t get a picture), and we ate pizza and played with the kiddos.  The following day Erik and I headed over to his cousin Matt’s house to and we got to hang out with this little man

Connor is the cuuutest 🙂 We went to the park and played a little before we went back to Elmhurst the next afternoon to pick up Erik’s parents and head to Lake Geneva!!!

Get ready for photo bombardment!

I spent a lot of time here…. 🙂

Erik and his dad played a lot of “Redneck Golf”

Then on Thursday we went down to the lake to get the boat ready so Erik could go wakeboarding.. and we saw the most ominous clouds I have ever seen in my life!  These were the same storm clouds that caused all the crazy destruction here back home.

the lake was empty for about an hour

Then the clouds went away without a drop of rain and we got to go out on the boat.

He had fun and we had fun watching him.

I will save the rest of my pictures for tomorrow 🙂

What did you all do for the fourth of July? See any fireworks? We didn’t…oopps

Cheers!

That looks like such a fun vacation! The pictures of the docks were my favorite. I wish I could go somewhere like that SO badly! The weather over here has been horrible this week.

Thoughts?
