18 Weeks!!!!

Hello friends!

Thank you all for your sweet words yesterday 🙂 We had a wonderful night despite the fact that I got a ticket on my way home from work (barf, shouldn’t cops be fighting crime instead of trying to fill their monthly quota of speeding tickets?).

We made dinner together instead of going out to eat 🙂 We had filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes, and a side salad.

oh ya and a bottle of non alcoholic wine.. well a sip of the wine, because it tasted like vinegar.. so we threw it out… bleh

I also made some Raspberry cheesecake bars 🙂 mmm, these were amazing!

Today I am officially 18 weeks along!!!!

Look at that little bump 🙂 hehe I am so excited to see my belly grow.

This week our baby is the size of a sweet potato

According to babycenter.com, “Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He’s busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you’ll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they’re still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he’s born. If you’re having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you’re having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.”

I cannot WAIT to find out what we are having!!!! Erik said he was getting a bit anxious to know… I am in the same boat! 25 more days till we find out!

Last night I felt this overwhelming sense of happiness and gratitude.  I still cannot believe that we are going to be parents, I don’t think it will feel 100% real until we hold our baby for the first time.  I get teary eyed just thinking about it.

We keep trying to feel and hear the baby’s movements, we have a stethoscope and I’ve been putting it on my belly to try and hear the baby move. No such luck yet.. well I shouldn’t say that, we think we hear stuff, but we are really sure what we should be listening for.

I’ve been feeling okay.. I have been getting queasy again in the mornings, not really sure why, but I am going to change the time of day I take my prenatals and see if that helps.  Also I think pregnancy brain is already kicking in for me… Earlier this week I walked all the way out to my car without my purse and had to go back into my office and find someone to unlock the door. It was a mess. Apparently it gets worse, so consider this your warning, I blame the baby for taking all my brain power.. This better be one smart little nugget! 🙂  I am so excited to meet him/her in 22 weeks 🙂 haha.
