Whoa, our LAST week in the second Trimester!!!!!! Is that a joke? I seriously cannot believe how fast time has flown by, I feel like it was just yesterday I was sharing our news. Insanity.
This week our little man is 14 inches long, weighing in at about a pound and two thirds. He is as long as an English hothouse Cucumber
Mind you that cucumber in that picture is only 11 inches long.. so imagine another 3 inches!
According to babycenter.com, “The network of nerves in your baby’s ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner’s as you chat with each other. He’s inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he’s born and takes that first gulp of air. And he’s continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you’re having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.”
I feel like my belly looks the same in the most recent pictures. I take them all at the same time in the morning before I eat breakfast to try and get the most accurate picture. I will tell you that at night my belly is HUGE, haha.
This week has been a bit rough for me… I’ve been having some round ligament pain, bleh. My back and shoulders have been a bit sore, mostly in the mornings. Oh man what I would do to be able to lay on my back for a few hours. My hubby has been amazing and gives me daily back rubs, so I can’t really complain 🙂
They say that from here on out I will gain about 1/2 inch in belly/fundal size EVERY WEEK, whaaa? I cannot imagine getting 1/2 inch bigger each week, bring it on! My workouts have been going well thus far and I am hoping to keep up with them as I move into the third trimester.
This week we also went to see the last of our list of daycares, and finally decided on one of them! WOOT. I am going to pick up my packet this afternoon, and we will be ready to go in March when I need to take him to daycare (sad). It feels as though a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, that is until it comes time to drop him off, now that is going to be a totally different story. My advice to preggo mommies out there, if you haven’t started looking for day cares you should do so as soon as possible!
I also signed up for all of our classes. We are taking three classes; a birthing class (which is an all day event), I will be going to a breastfeeding class (yuck 4 hours), and another 4 hour Baby Care class. I didn’t realize how quickly these classes fill up, I sure am glad I signed up already! All of our classes are in December, yippie!
