32 Weeks!

Hello friends!

Eight more weeks! As I said earlier in the week, I have successfully lowered my blood pressure, and am now back to normal or a little below!  I’m pretty sure that one reading was a fluke, but I am glad my doctor kicked my butt in gear because I have been eating better and walking everyday.

This week I was experiencing some pretty bad back and hip pain, and I took Erin’s advice and started sleeping without my leg propped up on my body pillow and the back pain went away!  I have also been doing some stretching before bed at nights and when I wake up in the morning, just to loosen up my muscles and joints.

I am hoping to do a final and full nursery tour soon, but I am waiting for a few key pieces to get in before I do that. I am also working on my to-do list of things we need to get done before Liam is born, one of which includes installing the car seat!  I think that can wait until early January, but I will post my list sometime next week.

We had our third trimester ultrasound yesterday. I’m not sure if I mentioned this on my blog but when we went in for our 20 week ultrasound the doctor told us that one of Liam’s Kidney’s was slightly enlarged, this is called fetal pyelectasis.  The normal size for a kidney at that stage is 4 mm and Liam’s was 4.9 mm.  No one likes to hear something is wrong with their baby, but we were told not to worry.  Fast forward 11 weeks and here we are, we had our follow up ultrasound today and the doctor said everything was fine 🙂 The blockage cleared itself and he is right on track with growth.

In fact he is in the 51% percentile for growth, woot!  They told us that he currently weighs about 4 lbs 4 oz 🙂 and his head is measuring about a week bigger than his gestational age, which is still average.  The doctor said that if he stays on this track of growth that he will weigh about 7 lbs at birth, but we will see 🙂 He didn’t want to have his picture taken so all the profile images had his hands blocking his face.  But she managed to get these shots of him looking at the “camera”.  How cute is he? Ahh I cannot wait to kiss those big cheeks!

They also told us that he was already head down! Woot, hopefully he won’t toss and turn anymore in there and will stay head down for the remaining eight weeks! Please excuse my horrible paint skills, but this gives you a general idea of how he is laying in there.

According to babycenter.com, ” By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You’re gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she’ll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.”
