We have a full term baby!!!! Hooray! I am so grateful to have made it to this huge milestone. Officially three weeks until my due day but little Liam any time you want to come out we are ready for you🙂 My hospital bags are ready and in my car. We will be getting the car seat inspected this weekend!! Please excuse my exhausted appearance I am fighting a cold and well frankly I am tired!
We found our photographer for our newborn photos🙂 A friend of ours needed to expand her newborn photography portfolio and I wanted a photographer that I either knew or was highly recommended. Rachael Dean is an amazing photographer and I cannot wait to work with her🙂. Hopefully Liam cooperates with us.
This week has been emotionally hard, my hormones are raging and I am really not a fan. The last few days have been a lot better, I had a nice loooong chat with Erik and my bestie Bethany and things have seemed to calm down, and I really hope my hormones stay at bay for the remainder of my pregnancy. I think what it boils down to is that I am really ready to meet Liam, and physically exhausted.
Physically I’ve been feeling okay. I am currently fighting a stupid head cold, which sucks a million times worse when you are pregnant because you cannot take anything. I am really hoping I can fight this thing off quickly. Also getting up after a long period of sitting hurts my hips, but once I get moving I feel a lot better. We have been going on walks almost everyday with Ella and I think that has really been helping.
I have a doctor’s appointment today at 3, she had mentioned last week that she wasn’t going to check for progress until I was 38 weeks, but maybe she will change her mind…ha.. Also at my last appointment I had a little bit of protein in my urine, but since my BP was normal she wasn’t concerned about it. I am convinced it was because my appointment was early in the morning and I was a bit dehydrated. I will let you know for sure tomorrow!
For the last week or two, both Erik and I cannot seem to sleep through the night. I know I physically can’t because I have to pee every hour, but I feel bad for Erik. He thinks it’s our bodies getting us ready for the lack of sleep we will be experiencing in the near future. We are both sleeping for about an hour or two then waking up. The weird thing is that when I get up I feel like I’ve been sleeping for hours, so I am not too disappointed when I look at the clock and it says 12:15 am. I really really hope this is how my body reacts when Liam is finally here.
According to babycenter.com, “Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you’re planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s a medical reason to intervene earlier.) Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.”
