Thank you all for your words of encouragement as I go through the last two weeks of my pregnancy! They make me smile 🙂
14 more days until my due date! WOOT! I am really really hoping he doesn’t want to wait that long to come out, because being on bed rest isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sorry I look so tired and puffy, it’s 6am…and I’m 38 weeks pregnant, haha…
This week other than being on bed rest and confined to the house, I have been feeling pretty good. I have had some pretty painful braxton hicks contractions and a lot of cramping! I hope that means that we are making more progress in the dilation department. I was happy to hear that I am almost 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced at my appointment on Tuesday.
I’ve been trying to relax emotionally as well, I have been getting pretty anxious and excited to meet Liam and I need to relax a bit more. There are so many theories on things to do to get your body to start labor but I honestly think that relaxation is the key. I believe that my body knows what to do and it will start when it is ready. That is obviously easier said than done, especially when all I can really do is lay around and think… In order to keep my mind busy other than studying for a test I have to take for work when I go back after maternity leave I’ve been working on my pregnancy photo book on Shutterfly.
It’s been fun to go back and look at my pictures from when I was 5 weeks pregnancy and compare them to what I look like now, appleseed to pumpkin!!
I can’t wait to get back to where I was before I got pregnant 🙂 We have been watching a lot of Biggest Loser, and it is getting me really pumped to get back into the gym!
According to babycenter.com, “Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If she’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)”
