Oh man oh man am I sore.. I just completed my leg workout for today and I am dead.. I can barely make it up the stairs and it wasn’t even a strenuous workout! It is unreal how out of shape I am. I know I just have to keep telling myself to take it slow and I will get back to where I was but man, I can’t believe that a year ago I was training for a half marathon and running up to 13 miles!
There are e few 5k’s I have my eyes on.. I have already signed up for the Color Run which is in May, and there is another 5k in Alexandria at the end of May I might sign up for.
There are two half marathons I have my eyes on for later this year.. One in October and another one in Richmond in November. I’m not sure I want to do both, but maybe I will. I really want to do the one in Richmond so we can go and visit Brandon, Erin and Caden.
Baby steps tho.. I have to see how I feel after a few weeks of this modified workout schedule. I also know that it’s going to be really hard to train for a half marathon with a new baby. I wouldn’t really have to start training until July but still, he will only be six months old and I know it will be hard to get out and run.
One thing I have learned is that I need to set realistic goals for myself, I can’t expect to bounce back 100% after having a baby, I know that.. But it is still hard to wrap my head around.
