Kicking it up

Hello friends!

Boy was it hot here yesterday..

I don’t really know if it actually went up to 97 degrees yesterday but that’s what my car told me and she’s never lied to be before. This morning was a bit cooler so when I drove over to my mom’s house to drop Liam off he had a little blankie on top of him.

IMG_20130411_073845We got those Aden & Anais swaddle blankets and we never used them as swaddle blankets. They are way big, but they are really really soft and light, so they are perfect for a little cover on a cool morning. And they have some really cute designs.

Well I haven’t talked much about my postpartum weight loss much recently because well there hasn’t been any.  I have been stuck at 23 lbs lost for three weeks now and I’m getting sick of it. I know they say it took 9 months to put on the weight, give yourself at least that long to lose it, but at the rate I’m going I will be 80 before all this weight comes off. (yes that is a bit dramatic, but hey).

So I’ve decided that I really need to kick it up a notch.  P90x was a flop, I just don’t have the time to dedicate to the program, which is sad because I really do love it.  I’m going to start running again!

I think my body is ready and I am so excited.  I am going to start slow, probably with just a mile to see how my body reacts. I say this because at our softball game on Sunday, I was a mess.  My body is so uncoordinated right now, I almost fell on my face a few times.

I think this will really help kick start my metabolism. I need it. I miss having the blood pump through my veins, and I think my body misses it too.  I hope that my body reacts positively to this change and I see the results I crave.

My eating habits are just as bad as my laziness.. I haven’t been eating poorly, but I need to be more aware of my portion sizes.  This weekend I am going to get back into planning our weekly meals.  I need to start cooking and working out again.

I know that taking care of myself is just as important as caring for Liam.  So here I go.. making a plan to change my habits 🙂

    Good luck! I’m 4 months out and still holding onto some weight and the scale will not move. I’m hoping breastfeeding is why. I like to think it is much more important to feed my little boy than fit into my old clothes (even though I am so anxious to) to keep myself sane about it. Anyways, good luck with the running… I started slow until I felt back to normal again and now I am in week 2 of Insanity. yikes!
