Holy Cow Liam is already 16 weeks old.
He can now lift his head and shoulders really well when he is doing tummy time, and is starting to like it a little more everyday. Well at least I hope he is. He hasn’t rolled over yet, but I think we are getting really close.
At night he likes to roll onto his side and is getting better at staying on his side. Last week when he would roll to his side it was a disaster, he would roll back onto his back and wake himself up… This week he has more control over that. Baby steps right?
Sleeping at night is still hit or miss and now that I am back at work he seems to be napping better during the day. Well most of the time. He usually takes one good 2 hour nap in the morning, and another one hour nap before noonish. Then any other nap he takes during the day ranges from 20-40 minutes. He is still getting between 11-13 1/2 hours of sleep a day.
Sometimes he is so hungry that if the milk isn’t coming out fast enough he will pull away and start eating his hands… That really makes no sense to me, but hey who am I to judge. I have starting thinking about solids, and while I don’t plan on giving him any anytime soon I will have the conversation with his pediatrician next time we go in.
My neighbor started her son on solids at 5 1/2 months. She said that she really felt he was ready for solids, he would stare at them while they would eat, and really seemed interested in food. That and he was eating 40 oz of formula a day, so she thought it was time to move on. I am selfishly excited for him to start solids because I really hate pumping. Especially now that I don’t have my own office, it is such a pain.. I know it’s worth it so I will keep doing it until he is a year old, but man it sucks.
I’m really not sure how many ounces he eats in a day, but if I had to guess it would be close to 35 ounces. He has been taking more at a time too. Once night my sister was babysitting and he ate 7 ounces in one feeding!
I hope everyone has a great day!
