Liam is 23 weeks old today! And he has a cold 😦 I am home with him today, I hope he gets over this one quickly!
Like I say every week time is flying by! He is growing up to be such a big boy. This week was a really busy one for us. Solid food is in full swing, and we learned that for now he doesn’t like peas 😦 On Sunday we tried sweet potatoes and he ate a bit of it. I don’t know if I am pushing him to eat solids too soon, or if this is normal behavior. Sometimes he refuses to open his mouth even though I know he is hungry.
We are learning to be patient with the whole process. The problem is, he seems like he wants to eat solids, he will grab at our food and even our spoons and forks, but when it comes time to eating it, it seems he doesn’t like spoons. My grandma and I both tried feeding him little bits of the sweet potato by putting it on our fingers and feeding him and he ate it. hmmm. I guess we will keep doing this for a few days then try the spoon again. Maybe it was just too many new things added at once.
Also this week he went to his first baseball game,
His first vineyard
had a playdate with Michael and went swimming in the big pool.. he is getting better at sitting up by himself
but he still topples over from time to time He is in full 6 month clothes now and occasionally wears 6-9 month outfits. I was looking in his closet and realized that I will need to go get him some more 9 month outfits when he outgrows his 6 month clothes. But for now we have plenty of 6 month outfits.
He has been sleeping really well. But I will say this.. if he messes up his first nap of the day, the whole day is messed up. He needs a solid 2 hour nap at 9 or 10 in order to function happily for the rest of the day. After that he will take another hour nap in the early afternoon and 2 or 3 half hour naps after that. He goes to bed around 8 and sleeps until 3 or 4. We have stopped giving him his bedtime bottle and that has really helped his bed wetting situation.
I have to research a little more on when we can expect him to sleep past the 3-4am feeding. I don’t really want to put him to bed later, and I don’t want to dream-feed him before I go to bed. I fear that if I do that he will wake up and we will be up for and hour or more trying to get him back asleep. No thanks!
He is IN LOVE with Ella.
I’m not kidding, if he sees her he smiles and laughs and wants to grab onto her. And if he knows she is there but can’t see her he gets so upset and starts thrashing around when you are holding him so that he can see her. Bless Ella’s little heart because she puts up with him grabby hands and loves him just as much as he loves her.
Liam also needs to be entertained at all times. He gets bored and grouchy if he isn’t stimulated. He did great at the baseball game because there was always something going on so he could be awake for a few hours at a time and be in a good mood. It’s hard to do that when we are at home because I just can’t keep up! I know it’s bad to say already but he is gonna be a little stinker. I just know that once he starts moving he will never stop! I just pray that he will learn to entertain himself when he isn’t around a ton of people. Wish us luck! ha.
Alright enough yacking for today!
I hope everyone has a great day!
