Oh man I feel like I only have time to do these weekly posts for a few weeks until things settle down at work and I am no longer working at home in the evenings. Anyyyway… My little man is 24 weeks old! Oh man when did this happen.
He is going to be six months old in 15 days! He is growing up so fast I cannot believe it. He is sitting up on his own now. He is still a little wobbly but for the most part he can sit up for an extended period of time.
He loves playing with his toys. He refuses to lay down most of the time now. Whenever you have him in an inclined position he tries to sit up.. he is going to have pretty sweet ab muscles!Sorry the picture quality is so bad Ugh I don’t know what my camera was doing last night.. oh well.. He is getting more and more interested in Ella everyday, as I have mentioned before. But it’s getting to the point where if she leaves the room he follows her with his eyes then looks at me like “where did she go”.. and wants to follow her. We are still trying to feed him solids, and this week I think we rounded a corner! I gave him some Squash from Earth’s Best and mixed it with my milk and he loved it! Thank goodness! Last night I mixed in a little oatmeal with his squash and he ate it right up. I plan on continuing with this combo for another couple of days, then trying the sweet potatoes again. I was getting worried that he wasn’t going to eat solids for a couple more months… I say worried because I can’t keep up with his hunger! He wakes up in the middle of the night.. Once at 12:40 and another time at 4ish.. I can’t figure out why! He might be hungry…. He eats about 7-10 oz in the morning if he sleeps from 8pm-4am.. then another 17-20 oz during the day when he with our families… Then he comes home eats again (prob another 4 oz), I feed him his solid meal at 5:30ish, then bath and bedtime feeding at 7:30. This feeding is the longest and I would guess he gets around 5-6 oz. So that’s about 40 oz a day. Usually I pump anywhere from 15-18 oz during work hours and another 3-4 oz right before bed at 10pm.. It is exhausting! But it is worth it because I know he is getting the nutrition he needs.
Also this week, we bought him his own baby pool. He LOVED it.. It’s the same pool Patti has for Michael, but I figure we should have one too so he can go “swimming” at home. He loves splashing in the water.. Another big issue we are having this week is during bathtime.. We have a tub that only allows him to lay at an incline and he hates it. I have to wrestle with him the entire time because he wants to sit up. Erin has a pretty cool 2 in 1 tub that she is going to try and get to me.. Unfortunately we live too far away and it might not work out 😦
If we decide its too much of a hassle to get it to us, I will just buy one on amazon. To all the new mommies to be out there, I recommend buying this infant to toddler tub instead of the traditional infant tubs. You will be so glad you did.
OH YA! I almost forgot.. I think Liam is starting the painful process of teething.. Kinda.. I can feel a bump on his bottom gums.. I have yet to see anything but I know it’s coming! Sooner rather than later I think, but who knows. He did have a cold earlier in the week and is still recovering from the sniffles, so that might have something to do with the teething. Oh ya and he is starting to drool more than usual. It could be the reason he has been waking up in the middle of the night. I just don’t know!
Alright well I hope everyone has a great day!
