Sorry I was supposed to post about this last week but my blog was down on Friday and like I’ve mentioned before I am working some crazy hours right now. I hope and pray that we are in the home stretch of the crazy hours.. aka this shouuuuld be the last week, but we will see.
Soo sleep training.. it has been going really well. We started on Tuesday of last week and this is how it went:
8:30pm – Liam goes to sleep
2:45 am – He wakes up crying, but we don’t go to him, he cries for about 45 min
3:30 am – He passes out
6:00 am – awake for the day
That was night one, and I was surprised at how well it went.
Night 2 went something like this:
8:30 pm – He falls asleep
Not a peep all.night.long
5 am- happy, smiley boy awake for the day
He also started sleeping on his tummy almost exclusively now, which I think has helped him sleep through the night. He starts off the night on his side then rolls onto his tummy and basically doesn’t move all night. He has woken up one other time in the middle of the night but we haven’t gone to him at all, and he has figured out that he needs to fall back asleep. This has severely changed everyone’s mood in the house, we are all more rested and happier! Go figure huh!?
Eventually I would love it if he went to sleep earlier and slept until around 6, but we are going to have to work up to that. We will continue to start our bedtime routine at 7:30 in hopes that he will fall asleep by 8.. then after that, we will slowly move our start time up, so that eventually he is going to bed around 6:30 or 7. We have a ways to go to get there, but I think we are on the right track!
I also noticed that when he sleeps through the night without a peep, he takes better naps during the day and is overall in a better mood. Woot!
