Liam is 39 weeks old today! AND he is also officially 9 months old, but I will do a 9 month post later this week so stay tuned!
This week he has learned to stand up unassisted!!!! That is HUGE. He doesn’t do it all the time, but he will stand next to things then just randomly let go and clap his hands. The longest he has stayed up is probably like 30 seconds but hey you gotta start somewhere! He is still totally in love with books, I had to go to the consignment store near my office to buy a few books to keep at my mom’s house.
I think his favorite time is story time. Daddy and Grandpa story time is the best!He is also becoming a pro at climbing stairs and has a easier time doing it at my mom’s house because she has carpet. I think its safe to say that is his second favorite hobby.
Last night we had a huge scare and I wanted to share it with everyone in case this happens to them.. Liam hates getting his diaper changed and he hates being on his changing table. After his bath, we were getting him dressed and he started his normal “I don’t want to be up here” protest cries.. So we tried to distract him with toys and other things but things escalated and he got REALLY mad and was crying to the point where he wasn’t breathing! I quickly picked him up and started trying desperately to get him to take a breath.. he was turning purple and almost started turning blue before he took a breath. It was seriously the scariest thing that has happened. We thought for sure something was terribly wrong with him so we called both our moms and they both said the same thing. They said that babies just do that sometimes and the only way to prevent it is not to let them get that worked up. I spoke with my mom and she had said that Liam only napped an hour the entire day and he had a full day of playing, so she knew he was exhausted. I think he was overtired and didn’t know what to do and was just really really mad. I nursed him and he passed out and slept till 4:30 this morning. He woke up a totally different baby than he was the night before, happy and ready to play!
I plan on mentioning this incident to his doctor when we go in for his 9 month appointment next week just to make sure everything is okay. My mom also said that if that happens again to squeeze his butt so that it shocks him into taking a breath. It was terrifying and I hope none of you experience it.
*Please note that I am not a doctor and am not providing this information as anything other than my story and the advice we got from our families, if you have any doubts please call your doctors or 911*
I hope everyone has a great day!
