Perrigo Nutritionals review and GIVEAWAY

Hello friends,

Long time no talk. I’ve been super lazy/lame when it comes to updating my blog. I know I keep saying I will get better but it has been really hard.  I promise I will keep trying!

But I am here today and I want to share a few products with you all. Heather reached out to me a few weeks ago and I am finally ready to share my thoughts and pictures :).

I received an awesome box filled with goodies for Liam from Perrigo Nutritionals.

IMG_5874“Many moms are not aware that they can save up to 50 percent on infant formula by choosing a store brand over a national brand.  Store Brand Formula is nutritionally comparable to the national brands, yet are typically up to half the price, and can save you about $600 a year. Perrigo Nutritionals is the largest supplier of Store Brand Infant Formula and nutrition products in the world and one of only four companies recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for meeting the strict FDA requirements for safety, nutrition and quality for infant formula-manufacturing in the United States. Same standards and expertise used to develop infant formula applied to toddler foods. Toddler foods are appropriately developed for variety of stages of growth and motor skills with quality, nutritional ingredients to create foundation of good nutrition.” *

I was really surprised to find out that most of the infant store brand foods are made by one company. It is good to know that one company is responsible to uphold the high standards that I have for the foods I feed my son.

I also received a sweet book.

IMG_5871I have yet to read it but here are Five money saving tips for families as outline in this book.

Crystal Paine’s 5 Money Saving Tips for Families

Create a Budget
A budget gives you parameters and purpose, it gives you boundaries, and it gives you freedom to live creatively within those boundaries.

Shop With Cash
When you shop with a credit card (or even a debit card, for that matter!) you can have your budget in your head and you can do the best to stick with it when you check out, but it’s so much easier to go just a little bit over here and there when you’re swiping!

Plan a Menu
When you have a plan in place for what you’re supposed to be eating each meal and you’ve already purchased the ingredients for those recipes, it’s a lot harder to justify chucking the plan for takeout.

Use Coupons
Coupons are a great way to save a lot of money on your grocery bill, but they can be hard to keep up with. Clipping, sorting, and organizing coupons takes time — so enter a coupon database! You’ll have access to printable and other coupons currently available and it’s one of the most effective and efficient ways to save money on groceries.

Buy Store Brands
One way to save a great deal of money on your grocery budget is to learn to like and use a variety of brands. The sooner you can get over being a brand-snob, the more your pocketbook will thank you.
For example, while I breast fed my children, moms who choose to formula feed can save up to 50 percent by switching to store brand formula, which meets the same FDA quality standards as expensive name brands. There are also coupons available at a website – (  This one simple change can save moms about $600 a year.

It’s a good thing to know that these are some of the rules that I follow in my daily life.  You all know how much I love coupons!  I really need to get back into the swing of coupon-ing, because that was really saving us a ton of money.  Not to mention it was a sweet adrenaline rush every time I went to the checkout counter.

Liam loves everything in this box. I think his favorite are all the yogurt bites. He shoves them in his mouth. Recently, I’ve been mixing all the fruit pouches in with his oatmeal. He seems to really love it.

I am also excited to tell you that Perrigo Nutritionals is sponsoring a giveaway today.

They will provide one reader a gift pack similar to the one I received!  There are 2 ways to enter.  One entry for each item on the list, please leave a separate comment for each item completed.

1. Leave me a comment with a money saving tip that you follow in your daily life.
2. Like My Running Thoughts on Facebook, leave a comment saying you have done so.

I will choose a random winner on April 11.

* Disclaimer: The Perrigo Nutritionals product, information and two gift packs have been provided by Perrigo Nutritionals.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I typically buy store brand items unless it’s an item I know doesn’t work as well or taste as well as the original.

Here’s my money saving tip! We shop weekly at our local farmer’s market. We get the freshest produce for the lowest prices. Sometimes it is 1/2 off what I’d be charged at the grocery store!

  3. Alyssa says:

I always check the flyers, use coupons when i can, and make weekly meal plans so i don’t buy extra when i am out.

  4. Kathy says:

The money-saving tip that I use most often is buying kid’s stuff at secondhand stores. Most of the time, the stuff is like new and it’s a fraction of the cost of what it costs brand-new.
