So I went to the dentist….

Hello friends!

Happy *rainy* Wednesday! I went to the dentist yesterday and it was one of the worst experiences ever. To be honest I think going to the dentist and getting my teeth cleaned is more painful than childbirth and recovery. Okay so perhaps that is an exaggeration, but seriously people! I’m pretty sure hygienists find joy in making hums bleed. Let’s set up the scene yesterday.

I walked into the my dentist’s office with a smile on my face because I had made it there in time, despite leaving work a little later than I had hoped *win*. I signed in and sat down anticipating a 20-30 minute wait. The hygienist called my name within five minutes of me being there, *win #2*. Well that is where the “fun and good times” ended. I took one look at the lady, and I knew it was going to hurt. Now there are approximately 100 (slight exaggeration) hygienists that work in that office, but somehow I manage to get this one lady almost every time. I’ve had her a few times before so I knew what I was in for and I almost pretended my name wasn’t Dorsa so I could just leave. Don’t get me wrong, this lady is very nice, and outside of this situation I wouldn’t have a problem with her. I’m pretty sure I was her last patient of the day because she was moving QUICK. She was moving so fast to get my xrays up on the light thingy (official term) that they went flying everywhere. dentist4Once all that was settled she started cleaning my teeth. I don’t my teeth are in bad shape, but with the way this lady was scraping them you would think I hadn’t had my teeth cleaned in over 15 years. It felt like she was never going to stop. Not only that, but she was scraping into my gums; each time jamming her sharp scraper into my gums..over and over again… I’m 100% positive my mouth looked like the blood bucket scene from Carrie. indexShe sped through flossing and polishing my teeth and sent me on my way. It was like she couldn’t get me out of there fast enough, maybe I smelled bad? Who knows. I popped some Ibuprofen as soon as I got home but it didn’t really seem to help. I could barely chew my dinner because my teeth hurt so bad. Maybe I am a wuss when it comes to my teeth, but I cannot tolerate tooth pain. Ugh, I really loathe going to the dentist.

Thankfully my mouth is back to normal today and we can all move on with our lives!

I hope everyone has a great day!
